Fort Myers in our Rearview Mirror!

Finally, the madness is over...the house is sold, our belongings stowed in a POD, and we are on the road again! First stop--Bronson to spend Easter weekend with the Callahams who have embarked on their own real estate adventure. They sold their house (the first week it was on the market, to the first person to tour it--no bitterness here) and are going to build a home. After a nice weekend with Jordan, Justin and Weller (So I get to make comments as well, what with being Deborah's traveling companion and primary dog sitter. We also got to meet yet to be named, still in utero baby sister), we began our adventure.  First stop--lunch with Taylor, my niece who lives in Neptune Beach. Lots of fun catching up with her and the best margarita I've ever had. From there, to St. Augustine Beach for a couple days of R and R to recover from a wild two weeks of packing and saying goodbye to our Fort Myers friends. I could literally feel the tension draining from my body with each step on the beach.  Next stop was a visit with the Gilmores (Dave, Barb and Erin, all still in fine shape and incredibly gracious) near Charlotte, NC. We had so much fun--me getting to know them and Jim renewing this old friendship. Hope to see much more of them in the future. We leave the Gilmore's home and head for Asheville. The drive is gorgeous--redbuds and dogwoods blooming side by side on the hillsides of the freeway--makes my heart sing.

We arrive at our home for the next two months. It is in the historic neighborhood of Montford. We love it! It's a small, recently remodeled bungalow within walking distance of EVERYTHING: a Whole Foods; a Trader Joe's; a Harris Teeter; and most importantly, downtown Asheville with dozens of dog-friendly restaurants, art galleries, interesting boutiques (including speciality pet shops with yummy treats), and craft beer breweries. Everyone's happy! (Beer, beer and beer. What's not to love?)

It takes us no time at all to settle in and find morning walking routes; yoga studios; and neighborhood cafes. From the very beginning, we love it and can't wait to begin exploring!

More later...
